Minefield

Colsen has been a bit sick, so the other day I let him stay home instead of going to daycare. I get pretty wrapped up in my work and didn't really pay much attention to him as he turned the living room into a cluttered mess. I've been trying to teach him to put away toys he was playing with before bringing out new toys, but we're not quite there yet.

Anyway, I didn't really have time to clean up after him. Today while walking to the kitchen I managed to step on what must have been the sharpest toy he brought out, a little plastic cone for his Hot Wheel cars that jabbed right into my foot, causing some excruciating pain.

This is the second time a toy has broken skin on my foot. I'm going to have to invest in a sturdy pair of house shoes or something. You know those toys are never going to get cleaned up right away.

So if you ever come around here, beware! Keep your shoes on.
